Everything you need to know about PATH to NYC

PATH train system facilitates public transportation to NYC Midtown, NYC Downtown and in New Jersey it covers from Hoboken, Jersey City upto Newark. This area around NYC is highly populated and relies extensively on transportation to NYC. There are many means of commute including buses, local shuttles and also NJ transit trains to cover this area but, all hands down when it comes to PATH trains.

Path runs for all 7 days of the week, for specific time and schedules check this link. Commuters can use MTA MetroCards or PATH SmartLink Cards to pay fares and get access to the system. PATH fares are as shown below;

SmartLink Card users may purchase a $2.50 one-trip product with cash, debit/credit card, or transit benefits debit card from any PATH vending machine. Effective March 3, 2013, a $1.00 fee will be charged for each new MetroCard purchased at a MetroCard Vending Machine (including those at PATH stations) or station booth, or commuter rail station Click here for additional information about the MetroCard $1.00 New Card Fee.* - The PATH SingleRide Ticket costs $2.50 and may be purchased with cash, debit/credit card, or transit benefits debit card from large vending machines in any PATH station. MetroCard may be purchased with cash, debit/credit card, or transit benefits debit card from any PATH or New York City Transit vending machine. The $2.50 PATH fare is deducted with each use of a MetroCard with dollar value on it. The PATH SingleRide Ticket is valid for two hours from time of purchase.** - The PATH 2-Trip MetroCard may be purchased with cash only from PATH station blue dispensers. One trip is deducted from the card with each use.*** - Can be used only once at the same station within an 18-minute period; good for one person only.

MetroCard only can be used 4 timed at a time so, if you are a party of more than 5 prople you might need to get two MetroCards for one trip. Therefore fill them accordingly, not too much amount in single MeroCard.
