Cloud computing means the use of computing resources such as hardware and software delivered as service over network typically internet. Cloud computing allows users to pay for a service which provides adequate software and hardware to process, collaborate and share user data over internet. Cloud computing really is the future of network communication. So, what you can do when you have a cloud service?
- Share: in earlier days people used to email attachments and then other party will modify the attachment to create new version and send you back a copy of that. In cloud computing user need not email a copy of file he/she just have created/edited. File resides on the cloud and user shares a link with other parties, other parties then can view/edit same file on the cloud and original user can see updated file on cloud right away without getting any notification from the editing party. There is a new term for this type of sharing, it’s call collaborating on cloud.
- Sync: Many cloud services allow synchronization of user’s data among several devices. A good example is, a user creating power point presentation at his/her home computer and forgetting to email it at work. If this user uses a cloud service he need not worry about that email as the sync service will already copy that file from his/her home computer to the cloud storage and download it automatically at the office computer as it is pre-configured.
- Storage: Store all your data online and access it from anywhere in the world. One of the prime service of cloud computing is offering users space on the web to store their data securely. Most of the cloud services use bank level security to encrypt your data on the internet. Services like Dropbox, iCloud and Microsoft drive offer some amount of free space per account. Users can then buy more space as required for a monthly fees. About Google drive they is cloud but frankly speaking you cannot upload videos and photos and cannot store files as you want.
- Automatic Backup: While some services focus on syncing and sharing files on cloud. Many out there like Just Cloud offer automatic on cloud backup feature for your whole computer with unlimited.
